Waste

In the future, it will be possible to devulcanize rubber waste from production and return it to the production plant in the form of granules. To this end, DS is already working successfully with long-standing compound suppliers on tests in this regard and is an important research partner for the rubber industry and well-known compound manufacturers.

Energy

DS uses the largest possible share of renewable energy from its own energy production. In addition, DS uses a certified energy management system as part of DIN ISO 50001. Thus, the in-house energy efficiency is constantly monitored and regularly re-evaluated.

Production technology

At DS, the use of state-of-the-art production machinery, in some cases with pollutant afterburning, is standard. It is also a matter of concern for DS to invest in its own production machinery in such a way that it is state of the art. This not only benefits the technology to a great extent, but also the aspect of sustainability.

Due to the mentioned investments, already today 50% of the energy can be saved at these machines compared to older extrusion line models.

Fleet

DS Dichtungstechnik uses electric mobility for company vehicles in part and where possible. For example, the forklifts drive for several years already completely electric-based and the cars partly as hybrid models.

When selecting compound suppliers, DS focuses entirely on regional partners in order to keep transport distances as short as possible.
